Seven years of doing it properly

Who we are

HGM Contracting is a tree surgery and agricultural contracting business based near Nailsea in North Somerset. We work for homeowners, farms, estates and commercial clients, from a single garden tree to full site clearance and ongoing land management.

Our approach is simple: reliable communication, tidy results, and full insurance. We turn up when we say we will, explain what we're proposing in plain English, put a clear fixed price in writing, and leave the site clean and tidy.

BS3998 tree work

BS3998 is the British Standard for tree work. It sets out good practice for how pruning, felling and other tree work should be specified and carried out. Everything we do is to BS3998 standards — which is why we don't top trees, and why we'll sometimes recommend doing less than you asked for.

Fully insured, fully qualified

We hold public liability insurance, and our whole crew is trained and covered on every job. We run Tree Preservation Order and conservation area checks as part of every quote and handle the applications for you.

The right kit

Our fleet — pickup and trailer, tractor with timber crane and grapple, wood chipper — means we can handle everything from delicate crown work to clearing large sites, without bringing in other contractors.
